STORY: At least 28 people have died in Cuba after the train they were traveling on slammed into a bus on Saturday (October 06), according to Cuban state television. More than 70 passengers were left injured with at least 15 in critical condition. 

State television reported that the accident happened when the train, traveling from Santiago en route to Manzanillo in Granma province, slammed into the bus some 800 kilometers southeast of Havana at the Yara crossing. 

According to the report, Saturday's train accident is Cuba's deadliest in years. The injured were taken to Carlos Manuel de Cespedes Hospital in Bayamo and Celia Sanchez Manduley in Manzanillo. According to state television, authorities are looking into what may have caused the fatal accident.
