電影劇情發生在北美大陸的深處，那時人類文明已經遭到徹底毀滅，並且重新分裂成不同的社會群體。組織規模上，以政府所在的首都城市為首，另有12個次級城市附屬其下，裡頭的居民都受到來自首都權力的壓榨，類似於今日的共產社會。

源自第13區的反叛軍企圖對抗首都政權，但最終遭受徹底殲滅，而第13區也被瓦解，連帶波及其他12區，不分男女，必須挑選出區代表來參與一場生存競賽遊戲。這場遊戲最後只有一人能存活，無止無盡的夢靨循環，必須有人挺身而出改變這一切，終結首都政權的錯誤，並將新秩序帶給各區域。

The Hunger Games

The Story takes place in the depth of North Ameria.... When all the civilizations has been annihilated and reburst into a different society. Now there is one main city and the rest of the cities are divided into sub cities total of 12. Where everyone is living under the supression of the captiol... similar to today's communist parties.

A rebel was going against the government (Capitol), (the district 13), eventually being annihilated from that action. Now district 13 does not exist anymore, because of district 13, from all the other 12 districts a boy and a girl is chosen to compete in a game. Until one person remains. Until someone changes the plan it will be repetitive cycle, wonder who can finish Captiols wrong deed and bring back the order to all the districts.
