In New York City, a case of mistaken identity turns a bored married couple ĄŚs attempt at a glamorous and romantic evening into something more thrilling and dangerous.

Claire and Phil Foste (Tina Fey and Steve Carell) are a typical suburban couple. They are a sensible, loving couple with two kids and a house in suburban New Jersey. Their weekly date nights of dinner and a movie ĄV have become routine. Exhausted from their jobs and kids, their dates rarely end in fore- or any other kind of play, let alone romance.
