25
(Sweet Dreams,Are Made of This)〞一曲,獲得廣大樂迷的支持。

Sisters Are Doing It For Themselves(姊姊妹妹站起來)這首歌。

INTRO: Campaigning singer Annie Lennox hopes her new single 'Sing' will raise the profile of a pioneering AIDS campaign in Africa.  Eurythmics singer Annie Lennox has released a single to raise money for an HIV treatment charity.

STORY: Annie Lennox(
安妮藍妮克絲) shot to fame 25 years ago with the smash-hit Eurythmics(舞韻合唱團) single 'Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)(甜蜜夢幻)'. The 53-year-old Scottish singer hopes her latest single 'Sing' will make a similar impact. The song features guest vocals from 23 major female artists, including Madonna(麥當娜), Celine Dion(席琳迪翁), and Pink(紅粉佳人), and aims to raise money and awareness for Treatment Action Campaign (TAC)(治療行動運動組織), an HIV treatment charity.

'Sing' was originally released in December 2006, but Lennox is hoping the new version, which contains a video of her trip to the South African townships last summer, will highlight the reality of South Africa's HIV AIDS situation.

She said: "Because I'd written a song called 'Sisters Are Doing It For Themselves' in the 80s, which became a fairly well-known, very well-known feminist anthem really, perhaps it would be possible to try to attempt to write another kind of anthemic song for women so I started to write a song and it ended up being called 'Sing' and I sort of melded the song in with an HIV activist song written by a group of activists living in Khayelitsa in South Africa."

The single is being showcased as part of the BBC's annual Sports Relief campaign(
體育慈善活動) this month and is being sold in Body Shop outlets, the first time the store has ever sold music.

Last year saw Lennox release her fourth solo album, 'Songs of Mass Destruction', a surprise hit selling more than 750,000 copies world-wide.  The singer says she believes her joint career as solo artist and high-profile campaigner is a healthy mix. In addition to supporting TAC, Lennox also works with UNICEF and earlier this year helped promote the deaf charirty 'Hear the World'.
